Distributed Ledger

Christine Perey edited this page May 28, 2019 · 1 revision

A Distributed Ledger is a blockchain-specific database that is spread across multiple computers, sites, or institutions, often globally across regions and/or countries. The ledger is a running list of transaction records that have been cryptographically verified by the network. Usually the historic transactions in the ledger can be read in a public format, but new entries to the ledger are governed by the consensus protocol for the given blockchain network
