Thanks Ben, this is a great idea! Is this implementation platform-specific? I'm fine with only supporting mac and linux but I would need to update the readme if this won't work on windows. |

If the user compiles with MSVC or Clang-CL it won't build because of uinstd.h ioctl. |

Before I merge this, I'd like to get it conditionally compiling depending on platform. When I have some time I will look into this, fix up, and merge. For now there are some other tasks I am prioritizing. (Note to self: since I pad the end of line with |
