Getting Started

Get up and running with Hyprnote in minutes.

Installation

macOS

brew install --cask fastrepl/hyprnote/hyprnote@nightly

Or download directly. On first launch, grant microphone and system audio permissions when prompted.

Linux (Experimental)

Windows

Quick Start

1. Grant Permissions

On first launch, grant microphone and system audio access when prompted. On macOS: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.

2. Configure Transcription

Go to Settings > Transcription and choose:

  • Pro (recommended): Subscribe to Pro for curated cloud models that work out of the box
  • Local: Select a Whisper model (downloads automatically on first use)
  • BYOK: Enter your own API key for Deepgram, AssemblyAI, Gladia, OpenAI, or Soniox

3. Set Up AI

Go to Settings > Intelligence and choose:

  • Pro (recommended): Subscribe to Pro for curated AI models
  • Local: Install LM Studio or Ollama, start the server
  • BYOK: Enter your own API key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Mistral

4. Record Your First Meeting

  1. Create a new note (Cmd+N)
  2. Click the microphone button or press Cmd+Shift+R to start recording
  3. Jot down key points during the meeting
  4. Click stop when done

5. Generate Summary

Click "Enhance" to generate an AI summary from your notes and transcript.
