### Firewall & Ports

To ensure proper connectivity with the Base network while maintaining security, configure your firewall as follows:

| Port | Type | Description | Exposure |
|:---|:---|:---|:---|
| **30303** | TCP/UDP | P2P Peering | **Open to Internet** |
| **8545** | TCP | JSON-RPC | Localhost / VPN only |
| **8546** | TCP | WebSocket | Localhost / VPN only |

> **Security Note:** Never expose RPC ports (8545/8546) to the public internet without proper authentication or a proxy.
