I'd say that if you want to do something platform-dependent than it is better to check the os.name variable

It is not only Windows, it could remove PYTHONPATH=$(pwd):${PYTHONPATH} from start script on Linux platform. But of course the run style is up to you.

On Windows systems it is a problem with not founded modules. Theese two lines resolve ModuleNotFound exception.
