Installing ImageCaptureApp on Raspberry Pi

  • will be added after packaging is complete

Install the package with
sudo dpkg -i imagecaptureapp.deb

Taking pictures with ImageCapture on Raspberry Pi

Set up

  1. Turn on and sign in to the Raspberry Pi
  2. Run ImageCaptureApp
  3. In a dark room, place lamps each one foot away from the ring stand on either side of it (left and right) with light bulbs aimed up
  4. If not already in place, position camera 24 cm above table

Take pictures

  1. Place vial holder in frame of image using camera preview
  2. Create or load vial list
  3. Select vial ID for first vial from list
  4. For each vial to be imaged:
    1. Validate destination file name matches current vialʼs ID
    2. Remove vial plug and place vial in holder under camera
    3. Position vial in frame, making sure entire egg-laying surface can be seen in image preview
    4. Adjust focus by turning lens
    5. Click “Take picture” and wait for buttons to be reenabled

Wrap up

  1. Back up images to desired location
  2. Close all tabs
  3. Close the Image Capture app and any other open windows
  4. Sign out and shut down the Raspberry Pi
