Chboot hashes the boot partion with every new kernel update, and stores the result in the main partion so during the boot sequence it can check if any boot files have been tampered with, and if it detects tampering then the user has the option to continue with F1 if they did change something, and if you did not change anything then at least you know something was tampered with, and can chose to continue the boot process if you still want to.
The best part is it allows for older PC's and newer ones with secureboot which you need to turn of most of the time to have some sort of boot integerity checking platform angnosticly.
