Best practices for Skia + Emscripten + modern build systems?

Hi all! Question about Bazel + Skia + Emscripten.

What we have working:

• Successfully building Skia with CMake + Emscripten
• Hundreds of thousands lines of C++ compiling to WASM
• Custom artifact caching (60min → 5min builds)

What we want:
Moving to Bazel for better scalability and remote caching.

The problem:
Converting our CMake-based Skia build to Bazel is complex. Skia has so many files and specific build requirements.

Anyone using Bazel to build Skia for WebAssembly? How did you handle:

• Creating BUILD files for Skia's complex structure
• Emscripten toolchain integration
• Keeping Skia updatable

Currently debating between wrapping CMake vs writing native Bazel BUILD files. Thoughts?

I've written C code that interfaces directly with HTML Canvas, supposedly leveraging browser's underlying Skia library. have you done any benchmark comparing HTML Canvas versus Skia compiled with Emscripten? out of curiosity
