(UE5.7) Project can't compile correctly when downloaded

I don't know what the exact issue is, but after downloading the 5.7 or 5.7 mobile version and generating the visual studio project files, the compilation of the project always fails. I am always prompted with the message to try to rebuild from source manually.

I am pretty confident this is an issue on my end, normally I am not utilizing any code in my projects so I am basically unfamiliar with it.

Help would be much appreciated, so thank you in advance and happy holidays!

Hey, no it’s not on your end the 5.7 branches are just incomplete.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply, I also tested it with 5.6 just now and still receive the same error.
Funny enough, in 1 out of 3 cases instead of having the compilation error, it simply can't find the hotpatch folder.

Is there any guideline I need to follow to get this running? I really need something more lightweight than the normal UE5 projects.

Hey, did you try running EzCompile.cmd after generating the sln, this should compile and then you can open the project without visual studio just by opening the .uproject, but it has to be compiled manually atleast once.

So, this is what I did:

1. generating the project files
2. opening the .uproject in VS and building it (without any error)
3. Trying to run the .uproject led to the same issue as described, stating the action failed and I should rebuild from source manually.
4. Trying to run the EZCompile command before step 3 (on a fresh download) did not work either.

I think I really am doing something wrong
