GitHub Releases versus GitHub Tags versus connection versions #2

Description

@peternewman

I've no idea if this is the right place to mention this, but I've noticed a few modules, for example https://github.com/bitfocus/companion-module-generic-artnet where there is a mismatch between the tags:
https://github.com/bitfocus/companion-module-generic-artnet/tags

And the releases:
https://github.com/bitfocus/companion-module-generic-artnet/releases

Given GitHub treats releases front and centre as the latest thing, would there be a benefit to auto-adding one if the tag isn't present in a release when it's approved in the portal?

I'm assuming the tag at least is required for a developer to publish? If not then same comment for tags AND releases...
