What is needed?
Update the source code for stronger typing around filesystems. The code was updated already for vector file imports and exports. No work was done to update the code around C++'s std::filesystem namespace, when importing and exporting grid files such as geoTIF's.
How will this improve the project or tool?
If existing code works, then there's no technical improvement. This is to improve long-term maintainability and compliance to current C++.
