program not compatible with internet explorer?

I used Internet explorer edge to randomly type out texts for trying this script, But whenever I use "Esc" key to deny the suggestions, the stuff typed in search box was also removed.

Can we do something which will prioritize the action of "Esc" key? Like only denying the suggestions given by Autocomplete but not removing the content in the search box?
