Summary

While I'm not sure about the non-identity preserve flow, I can say that when identity preserve is set to "full", the SnapMirror relationship cannot be broken until the source SVM is stopped. Once the source SVM is stopped and the SnapMirror relationship is broken, the destination SVM starts automatically. This is true of ONTAP 9.16 at the very least.
